Schengis Mirassuly Nurghalijew ( Kazakh Жеңіс Мирасұлы Нұрғалиев , Russian Женис Мирасович Нургалиев / Schenis Mirassowitsch Nurgaliyev * 9. May 1962 in Amangeldi, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician .

Life

Shengis Nurghaliyev was born in 1962 in the village of Amangeldi, Kustanai Oblast . He graduated from the Kustanai Agricultural Institute with a degree in Agricultural Sciences in 1984. In 2001 another degree from the Central Asian University was added.

After graduating from university, Nurghaliyev initially did his military service in the Soviet army between 1984 and 1985 . He then began his professional career first in a state farm in Kustanai County before he then worked in another farm in what is now Nauyrsym County. Between 1995 and 1999 he was chairman of the board of the Niwa production cooperative and director of the Nadeschdinka company until 2004. Then he held a political office for the first time with the position of Äkim of Saryköl County. He practiced this from June 2004 to June 2006. After he was dismissed from this office, Nurghaliev was appointed Äkim (mayor) of the city of Qostanai . As head of the city, he headed the city administration until January 2008 and then became deputy Äkim (governor) of the Qostanai region. On May 23, 2010, he was elected as a member of the Kazakh Senate . There he has been a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development since 2014 and has been its chairman since September 2017.
