Rail traffic in Malta no longer exists today. But there was:

From 1883 to 1931 a railway was in operation in Malta , which consisted of the only rail line Valletta - Mdina .

From 1905 to 1929 an electric tram ran from Porta Reale in Valletta . See the article: Tram in Malta .

For the car- ferry traffic between Gozo and the main island, former railway ferries from Denmark were bought second-hand in the 1980s . The rails were still on the deck of these ships. Railway vehicles were then no longer transported in Malta.
