The Schillingsbek is a creek about 1.9 kilometers long in Hamburg-Lokstedt . The Lohbek is its only tributary between its source near Julius-Vosseler-Straße and its confluence with the Kollau . A pond in Von-Eicken-Park serves as a retention basin and was originally flooded by the Schillingsbek. To improve the quality of the river water, the Schillingsbek has been led past this pond since 2009, so that fresh water is only fed to the retention basin at medium and high tide.
As namesake
The following streets were named after the Schillingsbek:
- Schillingsbekweg (with bus stop)
- Schillingsbektal (crosses the Schillingsbek)
