Aeschiried (in the local dialect [ æʃːiriəd̥ ]) is the name of a district of the municipality of Aeschi bei Spiez in the former district of Frutigen in the Swiss canton of Bern and is located on a forest-free hill southeast of the village center.
The Aeschiried stretches from the Wachthubel and the Sewenegg to the east over the Murersweid , the Tannemattli , the Äbene , Halte and Glend , then after the Windegg in a southeast direction over the Bärbrunnemoos to the Schitmatti . The center of the scattered settlement is the schoolhouse , which was built in 1833, but was demolished in 1958 and replaced by a new one. The hill drops steeply in the south into the forest ravine of the Suldgraben .
The earliest documentary evidence for the place comes from the year 1342 (our gůt… uffen Riet in the kilcheri ze ash ) ; the compound name Aesche-Ried appears for the first time in 1838.
