from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schlösschen is a castle-like building in Rückingen , town of Erlensee in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse . The building, now known as the Schlösschen , is an outbuilding of the mansion , which was demolished in 1909/1912 and which once occupied a large part of the eastern town center. All that remains of this next to the little castle is the men's barn on the Kinzig . Today the castle is used as a primary school together with a younger extension .

history

The origins of the Herrenhof lie in the destruction of the neighboring Rückingen moated castle in 1405. Johann von Rüdigheim participated in raids as a robber baron. After the destruction of the moated castle - used as an inheritance together with the Lords of Rückingen - under King Ruprecht along with numerous other castles, Johann Urfehde had to swear. Furthermore, he was not allowed to rebuild his castle. He had to vow not to build a ditch, a suspended bridge, a castle structure or a fortification.

From the Rückinger coat of arms stone from 1569 at the gate of the rebuilt moated castle it was concluded that the Rückinger lived in the moated castle in the following period, while the Rüdigheimer owned the manor . In 1655 the Lords of Rüdigheim died out. The manor house thus fell to Johann von Fargel , who had signed an inheritance contract with Anton Günther , the last gentleman of Rüdigheim. In 1666, with the extinction of the Lords of Rückingen, the whole place came into the possession of Fargel.

Rückingen remained in the possession of the von Fargel family for two generations. From 1714 they were replaced by those of Kameytzki ; after their extinction in 1758, no new after-fiefs were awarded by the Isenburg citizens , to whose court Langendiebach Rückingen belonged, until the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss . In the years 1909 to 1912 (chapel) large parts of the manor were demolished. In addition to a few pieces of the wall, the main remaining was the tithe barn and the castle. The latter was used as a school from 1877 and as a kindergarten from 1880, with a modern building being added to the east. In addition, there were always apartments in the community. A comprehensive renovation took place in 2007/2008.

Herrnhof

The actual castle building in the far east on the bank of the Kinzig belonged to the original Herrnhof , today about the rear property area of the houses Brückenstraße 43 and 45. The building had a square floor plan with an inner courtyard and a stair tower. It was mainly surrounded by smaller stable buildings. The still-preserved tithe barn near the bridge over the Kinzig forms the southern end of the manor . In the north, the property was bounded by a ditch that reached to the western property boundary in the area north of the preserved castle (today at the corner of Herrngartenstrasse and Hauptstrasse ) and had a bridge on the actual castle building. A chapel belonged to the Herrnhof and was located in front of the stair tower of the castle in the area of today's schoolyard.

Castle

The building, now known as the Schlösschen, actually consists of two residential buildings with a gable roof, located at the edge of the former manor house, the upper floors of which are half-timbered . The western building (Hauptstrasse 39) has two stone plinth floors, while the eastern building has only one. On the courtyard side, the western building is accessed via a stair tower. Years indicate the western building as the older one (1564). Stucco ceilings on the upper floor show the coat of arms of the Lords of Rückingen, while the coats of arms on the eastern building (Hauptstrasse 41) and on the tower point to the von Fargel family as the builder and the year 1713.
