history
The main court in Schlückingen was first mentioned in a document in 1002. Archbishop Heribert of Cologne founded the Deutz Abbey ; the Curtis Schlückingen was given to the abbey as a donation . Furthermore, there are reports of the old court court in Schluckingen and Sunheren , the court in Schlückingen was held by a Mathias Mechelt.
It is predominantly agricultural.
The St. Josefs Chapel, built in 1926, is located in the village. Before that there was a bell that still stands today.
On July 1, 1969, Schlückingen was incorporated into Wickede (Ruhr).
