Battle of Altwilmsdorf
The Battle of Altwilmsdorf (Czech: Bitva u Staré Jesenice ) took place during the Hussite Wars . It was held on December 27, 1428 at the Roten Berge near Altwilmsdorf in Glatzer Land .

From the Hummelschloss , which the Hussites held, they made several raids into the Glatzer country and Silesia . To counter the attacks of the Hussites to be prepared, joined the Munster Berger Duke Johann I already in 1424 an alliance with the Glatzer Governor d Puta. J. von Častolowitz .
After the Hussites found no followers in the Glatzer Land and the Glatzer deanery continued to support the old church and thus the Zittau cathedral chapter , the Hussites intend to take over the town of Glatz . For this purpose they set up camp near Altwilmsdorf in December 1428. Then Johann von Münsterberg moved together with Puta the Elder. J., his father-in-law Albrecht von Kolditz and Wenzel II. Von Troppau with their Silesian and Glatzer armies to Altwilmsdorf to attack the Hussite camp. In the subsequent battles, in which the Hussites were victorious, Johann von Münsterberg and around 400 of his fellow combatants were killed.
