The Schlappoltsee , also known as Schlappoldsee in a different spelling , is located at an altitude of around 1,719 meters near the Schlappold-Alpe in Oberstdorf im Allgäu . The lake can be reached in around 15 minutes from the middle station of the Fellhornbahn . In order to preserve the unique diversity of fauna, the area around the Schlappoltkopf is protected as part of the Allgäu High Alps nature reserve according to Section 23 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act.
