The slip ring GmbH in Fuerstenfeldbruck and another production facility in Kaufbeuren is part of the slip ring group . It produces and develops slip rings (rotary transmission systems) for electrical power, signals, data and media. Schleifring GmbH employs more than 650 people worldwide. It includes the US subsidiary Schleifring North America, LLC , and Schleifring Systems Ltd. in the UK and Schleifring Transmission Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. in China.

history

In 1974 the company was founded in Fürstenfeldbruck. In 1980 Wegmann & Co. Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH took over 90% of the company's shares as the new main shareholder. In 1984 the English production facility Schleifring Systems Ltd. was established. in Newbury as a full daughter.

In 1997 a second German production facility was opened in Kaufbeuren . Slip rings for medical and safety technology are manufactured here. In 2000, a further subsidiary was established with Schleifring North America, LLC in Elgin , Illinois. In 2003 the first complete gantry system for CT scanners appeared on the market. A year later, the company received the Bavarian Mechatronics Innovation Award. In 2006, Siemens Medical Systems received the “Supplier of the Year” quality award from a group of 1,422 suppliers as the best in the quality category.

The company holds several patents . In 2010 the Fürstenfeldbruck plant was expanded and the subsidiary Schleifring Transmission Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. was founded. in China for the sales and maintenance of slip rings for wind turbines for the Chinese market.

Transmission technologies

  • The contacting rotary transmission of electrical power , signals and data from BUS systems takes place through three basic contact pairs : gold spring wire, metal graphite and silver tape.
  • Contactless data and / or power transmission (inductive power transmission ), capacitive data transmission with a low bit error rate .
  • Transmission of optical signals through fiber optics - passive, bidirectional and unaffected by EMI , EMP and ESD .
  • High frequency transmission in a frequency range up to about 250 MHz; contactless data transmission up to 10 Gbit / s.
  • Media slewing rings or hybrid systems for the transmission of liquids (water, oil, cooling liquids) or compressed air gases.
