Schleswig-Holstein-Hadersleben

Schleswig-Holstein-Hadersleben was a line of the dynasty House of Oldenburg .

It was founded in 1544 with Johann when he was given by his brother King Christian III. was compensated for the lost Danish throne with parts of Schleswig and Holstein . Johann, also called Duke Hans or Hans the Elder, remained childless, and the line expired in 1580 with his death. The lands were divided between the royal line and Adolf I , the founder of the Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf line .

In the Duchy of Schleswig the offices of Hadersleben , Tondern (with Sylt and Osterland- Föhr ) and Lügumkloster as well as the landscapes of Nordstrand and Fehmarn belonged to the Hadersleben part, in Holstein the offices of Rendsburg and Bordesholm and, from 1559, the central part of Dithmarschen .
