The Schloßberg ( 605 m above sea level ) is a heavily forested granite hilltop 700 meters west of the village of Schönlind , a district of the city of Wunsiedel in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .
Tower hill system
The Schloßberg was the location of a tower hill complex (Motte), which was built before the 13th century. It served to secure an old road that came from Franconia and led to Bohemia . The moats around a core hill can still be seen from the former site.
