Göpfritz Castle is a castle in Göpfritz an der Wild in the Zwettl district in Lower Austria . The listed building was built in its current form towards the end of the 18th century.

Building description

The castle is an elongated, two-storey baroque building with a gable roof and two massive three-storey corner wings with high mansard roofs , a narrow central projection with a gable and an early historical facade structure, which was built in its current form towards the end of the. history

Due to its location on the "old Kaiserstraße" Vienna - Prague - Berlin , the castle has always been a popular base. The castle was owned by the Mallenthein family from 1682 to 1732 and has changed hands frequently since then. From 1919 to 1957 it served as a Dominican monastery . It has been community property since 1979 and is used as a community hall and for chamber music concerts.
