West Beacon (English for western beacon ) is 2345 m high, the striking western summit of Beacon Heights in the Quartermain Mountains of the East Antarctic Victoria Land .
Participants in the British Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) gave it the name Beacon Heights West . This name was changed by participants in a campaign that lasted from 1958 to 1959 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition .
