Kleinkötz Castle

The Kleinkotz Castle is located in Kleinkötz , in the municipality of Kötz in the district of Günzburg . The three-storey baroque building with hip roof is surrounded by fish ponds.

history

After several changes of ownership, in 1638 the Kleinkötzer village came to the Holzapfel family as a fief , which was later raised to the nobility . The sex was from 1711 to 1714, the badly damaged Wasserburg into a baroque castle rebuilt. After the von Holzapfel had died out, Ludwig Reinhold acquired the area in 1884. In 1917, Kleinkötz Castle passed to Karl Jedelhauser, who sold it to Carl Stierlin in 1930.

The castle, which is a listed building, is surrounded by a small park. In front of the rampart bridge are the former farm buildings with a gate entrance facing the street. In front of the castle portal is an open space surrounded by pillars. The castle is privately owned and not open to the public.
