Knutstorp Castle

Knutstorp Castle ( Knudstrup in Danish ) is a manor in the southern Swedish municipality of Svalöv . The castle is located in the Schonen region ( Skåne County ) near Landskrona .

Knutstorp has been an estate since the mid- 14th century . At the end of the Middle Ages it came into the possession of the Danish noble family Brahe, who owned it until 1663 . The astronomer Tycho Brahe was born here on December 14, 1546 .

Since then it has belonged to the members of the Tott and Anckarstjerna families . The castle was sold to Count Fredrik Georg Hans Karl Wachtmeister in 1771 , whose family still owns it today.

The buildings date from the middle of the 16th century, with fires in 1678 and 1956 .
