The Lebusa Castle is a castle in the Brandenburg town Lebusa in the Elbe-Elster district . A park belongs to the castle, both of which are listed .

The lock

In the 16th century there was already a moated castle on the site of today's manor house . This moated castle was owned by the von Löser family, who lived here from 1509 to 1680. Moritz Friedrich von Milckau , a general from August the Strong, owned the castle in Lebusa. Constantin von Bodenhausen's house stood in front of today's building . The present mansion was built on the foundations of this building until 1856. The castle burned down in 1908. It was rebuilt in 1910, modified. During this reconstruction, the roof was changed and the interior was rebuilt.

The castle stands on the edge of the village near the Lebusa village church , which is located northeast of the castle. The access to the castle is to the east, to the west is the castle park. There is a farmyard in the south of the castle.

The mansion is a two-storey four - wing complex with an inner courtyard, the wings are not at right angles to each other. From the driveway you come to the main entrance, the door is arched, the window axis with the entrance is highlighted in color. On the park side there is a round corner tower on the left and a crenellated gable on the right. To the left of the pinnacle gable is an arbor , under the arbor an entrance with an outside staircase. On the roof there are roof houses with pointed gables . With a few exceptions, there are cellars under the wings of the complex. Here wall foundations point to an old building fabric.

The park

In 1657 a tree gardener is named for the park. A park in the Renaissance style was created probably from 1682 . In 1704 Moritz Friedrich von Milckau laid out a baroque garden. An orangery was laid out in the second half of the 18th century , which was closed in 1829. The park was completely rebuilt by Baron Hans Julius von Bodenhausen, who owned Lebusa from 1869. During this redesign, the moat was filled in and the pond in the west of the castle was made more natural. Park paths were also laid out, the outbuildings of the castle demolished and the castle wall removed except for the northern part. In the 1950s, a path to the castle was laid out and hedges were laid in the area of the castle. Nevertheless, the character of the park from the second half of the 19th century has been preserved. A population of old trees has been preserved in the park.
