Surrounded by a moat , the three-storey quarry stone building with three towers and a bailey stands above an irregular floor plan. The designation 1664 can be found on the coats of arms and wall anchors. In the years 1672 to 1673 and 1874 extensive renovation work was carried out after a long period of vacancy. The staircase wing was added in 1927. A complete renovation was carried out from 1974 to 1981. The two-wing farm building on the outer bailey is labeled 1677 and 1880. The reindeer house with loopholes and renewed stepped gables made of bricks is covered with a half- hip roof. The core of the building probably dates from the 17th or 18th century. The altar marked 1678 with a carved retable in the castle chapel is remarkable .
