Johannes Gebhardt

Johannes Gebhardt (* 1969 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German organist , pianist , harpsichordist and composer .

Education

He studied church music between 1986 and 1993 at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig , a. a. with Hannes Kästner (organ). In 1991 he completed the A- exam in church music and in 1993 his concert exam in organ.

Competitions

He also took part in various competitions; including the following: Xth International Bach Competition 1996 in Leipzig (sponsorship award); 21st improvisation competition 1989 in Weimar (special price); Jazz and Churchorgan Competition 2001 in Hanover (special price)

Employment

He began his work as a cantor in 1994 at the Gedächtniskirche zu Leipzig-Schönefeld and finished it in 2002. At the same time he taught at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig and at the University of Church Music in Dresden . Since 2002 he has been a lecturer in organ literature and liturgical organ playing at the Institute for Church Music at the University of Greifswald .
