history

The castle in its current form was built in 1840. Claude-Philibert Rambuteau had the castle built in the style of the 18th century with hipped roofs and the central facade on the foundations of a building from 1777. Older parts of the castle have been preserved, namely a tower and a chapel, which date from the 16th century. Inside the castle there are salons with furniture in the style of the Louis 16 epochs . In the 19th century, when the old chapel was renovated, a new park was created.

Trivia

The Rue Rambuteau street and the Rambuteau metro station in Paris are named after Claude-Philibert Barthelot (1781–1869), Count of Rambuteau.
