The Schlossberg is 424 m above sea level. NN high mountain in the Diemersteiner Wald , part of the Palatinate Forest , in Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany .
Characteristics
It is completely forested and can be reached on various paths and trails. The summit forms an approximately 0.5 square kilometer high plateau.
geography
The Glasbach rises on the northeast slope of the Schlossberg . The hard rock, a sandstone formation in the middle of the Diemerstein forest, lies on the long south-east slope .
Buildings
In the further course of the south-east slope there is still an open-air stage, as well as the Diemerstein Castle . The mountain flanks in the area between the open-air theater and Diemerstein Castle were laid out as a landscape garden in the 19th century. Paths and stairs of this landscaped garden are still recognizable in the area, but are left to decay.
The open-air stage is currently not in use, the last time the play German Destiny , a foray into the history of Diemerstein Castle, was performed.
