Pribylina (Hungarian Pribilina ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia . It is located south of the Western Tatras in the Podtatranská kotlina basin . The town of Liptovský Mikuláš is about 17 km away.
The place was first mentioned in writing as Perbenye in 1286 . In 1828 there were 132 houses and 1622 inhabitants who were employed as shepherds, woodcutters, leather workers and in winter as shoemakers.

According to the 2011 census, Pribylina had 1,369 inhabitants, of which 996 were Slovaks, 270 Roma, three Magyars and three Czechs, two Germans and one Ukrainian; one resident belonged to a different ethnic group. 93 residents gave no information in this regard. 693 residents supported the Evangelical Church AB, 434 residents the Roman Catholic Church, six residents the Greek Catholic Church, four residents the Evangelical Methodist Church, three residents the Baptists and one resident each to the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses as well as the Orthodox Church; four residents professed a different denomination. 93 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 129 inhabitants was not determined.
