Liptovská Anna (until 1952 in Slovak "Svätá Anna"; Hungarian Szentanna ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia with 85 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Liptovský Mikuláš , part of the Žilinský kraj and the traditional Liptov region is counted.
geography
The village is located in the central part of the Liptovská kotlina basin (part of the larger Podtatranská kotlina ) at the transition to the northern Choč Mountains , in the valley of the Annin potok in the catchment area of the Waag . The Čerenová rock face rises above the village with a maximum height of 1121 m nm. The center of the village is at an altitude of 660 m nm and is 18 kilometers from Liptovský Mikuláš .
Neighboring municipalities are Malatiná in the north, Prosiek in the northeast, Ižipovce in the east, Bukovina in the south, Liptovská Teplá and Kalameny in the south and Liptovská Sielnica (cadastral municipality Sestrč ) in the west.
history
Liptovská Anna was first mentioned in writing in 1396 as Senth Anna . Based on the name and the early Gothic style of the local church, the settlement is believed to have been in the 13th century. Until the 16th century the village was owned by the local Szentannay family , later it belonged to the Allman and Dobák families . In 1784 the village had 52 houses and 265 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 36 houses and 332 inhabitants who were employed as shepherds, manufacturers of wooden dishes and farmers.
The place in Liptov County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and finally to Slovakia. In the first Czechoslovak Republic, besides traditional occupations, the residents also worked as lime burners.

According to the 2011 census, Liptovská Anna had 95 inhabitants, all of them Slovaks .
38 residents supported the Evangelical Church AB, 22 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, six residents supported the Evangelical Methodist Church and two residents supported the Christian communities. 21 residents had no denomination and six residents had no denomination.
