Ižipovce (Hungarian Izsépfalu - until 1888 Izsépfalva ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia with 88 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Liptovský Mikuláš , part of the Žilinský kraj , and is part of the traditional Liptov region .

The village is located in the central part of the Liptovská kotlina basin (part of the larger Podtatranská kotlina ) at the transition to the northern Choč Mountains . The center of the village is at an altitude of 598  m nm and is 13 kilometers from Liptovský Mikuláš .

Neighboring communities are Prosiek in the north and east, Liptovská Sielnica in the south-east and south, Bobrovník and Bukovina in the south-west and Liptovská Anna in the west.

history

Ižipovce was built on a piece of land that Benedikt and Stephan, sons of Kevel, received in a donation document from Ladislaus IV and was first mentioned in 1391 as Selniche, que nunc vocatur Isipfalva . Later the village was owned by families like Dobák and Čemický . In 1784 the village had 33 houses and 192 inhabitants, including 41 noblemen, in 1828 there were 19 houses and 184 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.

The place in Liptov County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and finally to Slovakia. In the first Czechoslovak Republic, too, agriculture remained the main source of income for the population.

From 1976 to 1992 Ižipovce was part of the Liptovská Sielnica municipality.

According to the 2011 census, 89 people lived in Ižipovce, including 86 Slovaks . Three residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity.

40 residents committed themselves to the Evangelical Church AB, 24 residents to the Roman Catholic Church and one resident each to the Mormons, the Evangelical Methodist Church and the Reformed Church. Eighteen residents had no denomination and four residents had no denomination.
