Liptovské Beharovce (until 1948 Slovak only "Beharovce"; Hungarian Behárfalu ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia with 78 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Liptovský Mikuláš , part of the Žilinský kraj and the traditional Liptov region is counted.
geography
The municipality is located in the central part of the Liptovská kotlina basin (part of the larger Podtatranská kotlina ) below the Western Tatras . The center of the village is at an altitude of 634 m nm and is nine kilometers from Liptovský Mikuláš .
The municipality and the unincorporated after 1877 site along Beníky (first mentioned in 1386 as Benykfalua , Hungarian Benyiki ). Today it is no longer an official part of the community.
Neighboring municipalities are Liptovský Trnovec in the west and north, Pavlova Ves (cadastral municipality Babky) in the northeast, Bobrovček in the east and Pavlova Ves (cadastral municipality Pavlova Ves) in the south.
history
The place arose on land that a certain Behar, son of Semel, received from Andreas II in a donation document . He was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1295 as curia Behar . At that time the village was owned by the local landed gentry, later it belonged to families such as Nemes , Lačnov , Urban , Allman and Bohuš . In the 18th century there was a brewery and a distillery in Beharovce. In 1784 the village had 33 houses and 190 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 27 houses and 249 inhabitants who were employed as violin makers, shepherds, farmers and carpenters.
The place in Liptov County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia and finally to Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Liptovské Beharovce had 66 inhabitants, 65 of whom were Slovaks . One resident gave no information about ethnicity .
51 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, five residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Greek Catholic Church. Seven residents had no denomination and the denomination of two residents was not determined.
