Rudolf Michalsky

Rudolf Michalsky (born April 23, 1952 in Norf ) is a former German cyclist .

Athletic career

Rudolf (Rudi) Michalsky started for the VfR Büttgen club. In 1970 he became German youth champion in road racing , winning the team time trial title the year before. He won the stage race Vöslauer Jugendtour (Dusika-Tour) in 1970. Since he wanted to concentrate on road racing, he switched to PSV Cologne , where he drove alongside Erwin Derlick and Dieter Koslar . He competed with the German national team in 1974 on the International Peace Tour, but retired from the tour. In 1976 he won the Berlin tour . In May he finished second in the amateur race around the Henningerturm . In 1979 he won two stages of the Lower Saxony Tour and the Grand Street Prize of Düsseldorf. In 1983 he ended his career.

Professional

Michalsky completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and also worked in this profession in his amateur days.

Familiar

He is the younger brother of Hans Michalsky , who was also a cyclist.
