history

In the 14th century there were reports of a chapel on the Schwarzburg. In 1695 this chapel was so badly damaged by fire that the construction work continued until 1713, when the church was consecrated on October 26, 1713.

The work for the princely hereditary burial on the vault was also ended by the fire.

The castle church, which was built in 1713, remained unchanged in its cubature after another fire in 1726 .

Only local materials were used for the interior work. Alabaster from Allendorf and marble from Döschnitz .

In 1940 the church was demolished. The church tower stopped. The baroque tower dome was destroyed in a fire on New Year's Eve 1980.
