The Evangelical Talk Church Schwarzburg is located in the community of Schwarzburg in the Schwarzatal in the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia . It is used by the Protestant and Catholic communities.

A chapel consecrated to Saint Margaretha is mentioned for the first time around 1100 in the Schwarzatal . In 1572, according to a document from Count Anton zu Schwarzburg , the chapel was rebuilt and dedicated to the Holy Trinity . In 1710 Schwarzburg was separated from the parish of Allendorf and formed a unit with Unterweißbach until 1935 . Since then the community has belonged to Allendorf again. In 1712 the chapel was restored. A year later the castle church was built, which was used by the Princely House and the residents of Schwarzburg. The chapel then served as a cemetery chapel .

In the second half of the 19th century the building fell into disrepair. The room was used by the gravedigger to store his tools and the bier. Only the church tower defied decay. In the spring of 1882 the old building was largely demolished and a new building started. The valley church was inaugurated on December 10, 1882, and the castle preacher Kabis and the teacher and cantor Magnus Voigt were particularly committed to building it. The pulpit altar from 1712 was transferred to the new church.

In 1973 the church tower had to be torn down because it was dilapidated. The current church tower was built by 1976. The four bronze bells are also from this year. The organ built in 1882 by the Eifert company from Stadtilm was replaced in 1982 by an organ from the Schönefeld company , also from Stadtilm. The last major renovation of the church took place from 2006 to 2009. Another renovation was necessary when the choir area was affected by the sponge .
