Band history

The band around text and sound poet Annette Fuchs came together in autumn 2005. In the summer of 2009 the band formed anew with the current line-up. With their debut "Dä Nubbel" the young ensemble landed a great success at the sing-along contest "Loss mer singe" (3 × 1st place) and the "Top Jeck" charts from Radio Cologne 107.1 (7th place). Another highlight of the 2005/2006 carnival session was the “Newcomer 2006” award from Radio Cologne , which was presented to the band on Weiberfastnacht 2006 on Severinskirchplatz in front of 8,000 spectators. In December 2006 Schmackes signed a record deal with the newly founded label Rhingtön, a subsidiary of EMI Electrola.

With the song Fastelover , the band landed another success in 2008 at Loss mer Singe. Peter Brings von Brings supported the Cologne band on their Maxi-CD Fastelover as a male vocal part and took part in the 2008 WDR Fool's Hit Parade with great pleasure .

Further singles published by the EMI subsidiary label Rhingtön were “Ölölö” and “Blücherpark”.

In the summer of 2009, the band formed anew with the current line-up around the band's founder Annette Fuchs. The song "Ölölö" was rewritten to "Kölün-Kölölö", the song "Äsch un Some" was also rearranged and the samba "Et schödd wie et kütt" was created from scratch. The band played in the 2010 session in front of 1000 spectators at the Loss mer singe - session in the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne and in front of 850 spectators at the Humba party in the Gloria in Cologne. Schmackes also accompanied the Cologne rock bard Gerd Köster there .
