The Loyginskaya narrow gauge railway ( Russian Лойгинская узкоколейная железная дорога , transkr. Loigiskaja uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga , transl. Lojgiskaâ uzkokolejnaâ železnaâ doroga ) with a track width of 750 millimeters in the oblasts Archangelsk and Wologda in Russia .

history

The forest railway started operating in 1947. It is still in operation all year round. The route network was meanwhile more than 308 kilometers long, today 200 kilometers are still used. The railway is used by the operator JSC Vologodskije lesopromyschlenniki ab Loiga to transport felled trees and forest workers. In 2014 a bridge was built over the Porscha ( Порша ) river .

Freight and passenger cars

There are several log wagons, open and closed freight wagons, tankers, bulk goods wagons for transporting gravel during track construction, as well as at least one snow plow and slewing rail cranes of the LT-110 (№ 031) and DM-20 “Fiskars” types. In addition to passenger cars, there are also simple dining or lounge cars.
