Gryfice Narrow Gauge Railway Museum
The narrow-gauge museum Gryfice ( "Stala qWystawa Pomorskich Kolei Wąskotorowych", German: "Permanent exhibition of Pomeranian narrow gauge railways") is the former branch of the Railway Museum Warsaw the Polish State Railways (PKP) for narrow-gauge cars of track width 1000 mm. Since 2010 it has been subordinate to the Szczecin Local History Museum .
It is located near the main and small train station Gryfice ( Greifenberg in Pomerania ) and shows exhibits on the history of the narrow-gauge railways in Pomerania .
history
The Warsaw Railway Museum has set up branch offices for the appropriate accommodation of narrow-gauge exhibits. There was no geographical division, but the exhibits were strictly sorted according to gauge and divided into three locations: in the Muzeum Kolejki Wąskotorowej Wenecja for 600 mm, in Sochaczew for 750 mm and in Gryfice for 1000 mm. Contrary to the name of the museum, it is not limited to the Pomeranian narrow-gauge railways, which are almost entirely built in meter gauge, but also takes into account the Piaseczyńska Kolej Dojazdowa near Warsaw as well as some railways outside Pomerania, which were changed from 1000 to 750 mm.
The museum was opened in 1978 in the immediate vicinity of the Gryfice train station of the Gryficka Kolej Dojazdowa / Greifenberger Kleinbahn . It consists of an open-air area on which numerous vehicles are exhibited, as well as exhibition rooms showing models and photographs of the Pomeranian narrow-gauge railways. In contrast to the other two narrow-gauge museums, the Gryfice Museum does not have its own museum route. However, individual operational vehicles can be used on the Gryficka Kolej Dojazdowa.
