The Saatziger Kleinbahnen stock corporation added to the Saatzig district in Pomerania east of the Oder , the development of which began in 1846 with the construction of the Stettin – Stargard line by the Berlin-Stettiner Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft . The company initially ran the company Lenz & Co. , then the small railroad department of the Provincial Association of Pomerania in Stettin and their successors.

history

The Stargarder Kleinbahnhof 1903
The Lübow stop in 1910

The starting point for the meter-gauge small railway lines was the small train station in the independent city of Stargard, which was the seat of the district administration for the Saatzig district . The connection between the state train station and the small train station in Stargard was served by a two-kilometer connecting line that was laid out in standard gauge. The first section, opened on January 14, 1895, turned north and then east via Alt Damerow to Trampke, the intersection with the state railway in the direction of Köslin , until it reached Zamzow in the east of the district. In Alt Damerow, a line to Kannenberg branched off from May 12, 1895, and was extended on November 1, 1895 in the neighboring Naugard district to Daber (24 km). There it was connected to the meter-gauge Regenwald Kleinbahnen in 1896 and to the standard-gauge Naugarder Kleinbahnen in 1902 .

The main line, which had received a 20 km long branch line from Kashagen via Jacobshagen to Klein Spiegel Gut on August 20, 1896 , was extended on October 1, 1897 from Zamzow to Janikow in the neighboring district of Dramburg . Although it was already possible to change to the state railway to Dramburg in Janikow , from November 15, 1910, the small railway continued independently for another 2.5 km to the district town of Dramburg. Here the small train station was two kilometers from the state train station and closer to the city center than that.

The entire network now covered a length of 122 kilometers. In 1939, twelve locomotives were available for this, seven of which were of the Lenz type i , two multiple units ( SKB T 1 and 2 ), thirteen passenger and five baggage cars and 170 freight cars.

At that time the main shareholders were the Prussian State, the Province of Pomerania, the Saatzig District and the city of Stargard. In 1940 the Saatziger Kleinbahnen, like all Pomeranian small railway operations, were combined in a public corporation under the name Pommersche Landesbahnen and referred to as Saatziger Bahnen, which were administered by the State Railway Authority in Stargard.

Goods could be handed over to the state railway in Stargard and Trampke. In the early years all goods had to be reloaded, in the last few years trolleys were used. A depot was located in Nörenberg.

Operation under Polish administration

The operation was continued by the Polish administration after 1945. However, in 1945 the Dobrzany – Pożradło Dwór junction was closed. The rails were dismantled immediately. Freight traffic between Ińsko and Drawsko Pomorskie was discontinued in 1961 and the route was dismantled.

The Stargard Szczeciński – Dobra and Trąbki – Ińsko routes were still operated by passengers. From 1985, new MBxd2 railcars were even procured for this purpose. Passenger and freight traffic was discontinued on the Trąbki – Ińsko line in 1996 and on the Stargard Szczeciński – Dobra line in 2001.

The locomotives 51J and 52Jh (Tx7-3501 and 3502) were preserved as a museum after the lines were closed. Today they are on exhibit in the Gryfice Narrow Gauge Railway Museum .
