Bytowo
Bytowo ( German Butow ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to Gmina Dobrzany (Jacobshagen municipality) in the Stargardzki powiat (Stargarder district) .
The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 65 km east of Stettin and about 30 km east of Stargard .
Since the 19th century, a political manor district and a rural community existed side by side in Butow . In 1910 there were 225 inhabitants in the rural community of Butow and 152 in the manor district of Butow.
Later the manor district was incorporated into the rural community. In 1925 Butow had 439 inhabitants in 83 households. Until 1945 the municipality of Butow belonged to the Saatzig district in the Prussian province of Pomerania . In the community there were also the dwelling places forester's house and forest worker's farm in Stabenow and Karlsruh .
In Butow there was a stop on the Jacobshagen – Klein Spiegel line of Saatziger Kleinbahnen , which was opened in 1896 ; the line is closed today.
In 1945 Butow, like all areas east of the Oder-Neisse line , came to Poland. Butow received the Polish place name "Bytowo".
