history

The former 99 5605 as Franzburg locomotive at DEV
The former 99 5605 as Franzburg locomotive as part of the Altenbeken Viaduct Festival

The locomotives were mainly used on the Pomeranian railways. Six locomotives came to the Franzburger Kreisbahnen (FKB). Other locomotives were added to the Saatziger Kleinbahnen (nine), the Kolberger Kleinbahn (eight), the Regenwalder Kleinbahnen (three), and six locomotives were delivered to the East Prussian Kleinbahn Pogegen – Schmalleningken . However, the number of the individual railways changed due to the exchange, so eight locomotives later came to the Greifenberger Kleinbahnen . A few copies were taken out of service before 1940, the remaining ones had the numbers 101 to 124 N 2206 on the Pomeranian State Railways .

Six locomotives were delivered to the West German Railway Company , which they used on the Engelskirchen-Marienheider Railway (EME), Ronsdorf-Müngstener Railway (RME) and the Wermelskirchen-Burger Railway (WME). These locomotives were sold early, so little is known about their whereabouts. Locomotive II (1894) was initially a construction locomotive, from 1897 at WME and 1900–1903 at RME, in 1935 it was used as a works locomotive at VDM in Werdohl . Locomotive 31 (1894) was a construction locomotive on the Moselle Railway , in 1904 it was still available. Locomotive 32 (1894) also initially construction locomotive, from 1897 with EME, 1902 with RME. Locomotive 33 (1895) was a construction locomotive in Sigmaringen , from 1903 with RME, 1914–1916 as a rental locomotive with the Kerkerbachbahn . Locomotive RME 1 (1899) was initially with RME, it was sold to the Netherlands in 1914. Locomotive RME 2 (1899) was with RME until 1903.

After the nationalization of the FKB in 1949, the locomotives there were classified as class 99.560 by the Deutsche Reichsbahn and continued to be used on the traditional route; they were retired from 1961 to 1968. Two of these locomotives are still preserved today: The 99 5606, which was installed at the Lehmann company in Nuremberg from 1972 to 2009 and privately owned in Schwäbisch Gmünd from 2009 to 2016, has since been sold to the Netherlands. 99 5605, exhibited in the Minidomm amusement park from 1973 to 1980 , is located at the German Railway Association in Bruchhausen-Vilsen, where it has been used in front of trains on the museum railway since 1982. She can also be seen at various exhibitions.

In 1945, 14 of the locomotives in Western Pomerania were still delivered to the Polish State Railways (PKP), where they were used as type T 2 3031 to 3044. However, they were retired between 1948 and 1951. Of the three locomotives that remained with the Kleinbahn Pogegen – Schmalleningken, two were found in 1945 on the Spreewaldbahn , where the former locomotive 23i was converted into a snow plow. This is still available today at the train station in Burg .

technical features

Technical feature is in the first 24 locomotives of the lack of a steam dome and Ramsbottom - safety valve then decreed that from 1895 built fourteen copies but via a steam dome. There was also an elevator for taking water from bodies of water. The water tank was in the frame, the coal containers to the right and left of the kettle.
