Marianowo Monastery (2011)

Marianowo (German Marienfließ ) is a village and seat of a rural community of the same name in the powiat Stargardzki ( Stargard district in Pomerania ), Poland . It is located 16 kilometers northeast of Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) on the Krępa ( Nonnenbach ) below the Great Lake (Jezioro Marianowskie).

Marianowo village ( Marienfließ )

history

In 1248 Duke Barnim I built the Cistercian convent Marienfließ and gave him land to settle. In 1569 the monastery was converted into a monastery for noble ladies . The place was one of the founding of a village by the nuns. Between 1688 and 1690 the brick church was rebuilt , which was expanded in 1892 by adding a church tower on the west side.

In the 17th century, Marienfließ became the official seat for the villages of Ball, Brüsewitz, Büche, Dahlow, Goldbeck, Marienfließ, Ebeneow, Rehwinkel, Klein Schlatikow, Treptow and Zarnikow with the associated Vorwerke Marienfließ, Mößin and Treptow on Rega . From 1653 to 1662 Ewald von Kleist was the bailiff of Marienfließ.

Between 1816 and 1945 Marienfließ belonged to the Pomeranian district of Saatzig . In 1905 the rural community had 630 residents, plus the manor district with 192 people. In 1933 there were 1,025 inhabitants in the village, in 1939 there were 1,031. On March 2, 1945, many residents of the village fled from the approaching Red Army . After the Second World War , the place came to Poland.

Touristic

The summer spectacle Lato z Sydonią commemorates Sidonia von Borcke (1548–1620), who was executed as a witch in Stettin in 1620 and who lived in the Fräuleinstift.

In addition to the monastery buildings, the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary with the altar of the Holy Mother of God of Fatima is an important cultural monument of the place.

One of the main traffic axes in Pomerania, the state road (DK) 20 from Stargard to Gdynia ( Gdingen ) - the former German Reichsstraße 158 - runs through the north-west of the municipality. In the north also runs the Voivodship Road (DW) 142 , which - formerly built as a section of the Reichsautobahn Berlin – Königsberg - coming from Stettin , ends a little later in the district Lisowo ( Vossberg ) of the Gmina Chociwel ( Freienwalde ).

rails

Since 1859, the railway line is Stargard Szczeciński to Koslin (Koszalin) in operation, after 1870 to Danzig has been expanded. The Gmina Marianowo with the stations Goglewo ( Ebeneow ) and Trąbki ( Trampke ) is connected to this railway line, which is operated today by the Polish State Railways (PKP) . In addition, there is a connection for the Gmina to the railway line from Stargard in Pomerania to Kallies (Kalisz Pomorski), which has existed since 1895 , at which the station of the district Sulino ( Goldbeck ) is located.

Before 1945, the Saatziger Kleinbahnen operated the Alt Damerow (Stara Dąbrowa) - Trampke (Trąbki) and further from Trampke via Marienfließ and Büche (Wiechowo) to Nörenberg and Dramburg and thus networked the villages of today's Gmina Marianowo.
