The Schmerlenbach is a tributary of the Teufelsbach on the orographic right .
The source is at the foot of the salt mountain . The brook flows northwest of Michaelstein between the right-hand Salzberg and the Grosser Probstberg and the 395-meter-high Nackenberg on the left. After about 1.5 kilometers, the inflow-free Schmerlbach flows into the Teufelsbach on the right.
