The Schlossgut Schnarchenreuth in the village is a listed building. It was completed in 1745. Until 1790 the place was called "Schnergereuth" and was a knight seat with jurisdiction. From 1812 the Schnarchenreuth manor was owned by the von Koch family. In June 2004, the artist Norbert Diehl alias Johnny B. Good acquired the property at the request of the district of Hof, which wanted to transform the decaying property into a cultural center. A large part of the roof has now collapsed. The castle is now owned by a non-profit association.

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Berg.
