Today Gottsmannsgrün is part of the municipality of Berg in the Upper Franconian district of Hof in Bavaria .

location

From a geological point of view, the district of Gottsmannsgrün is located on the eastern edge of the Franconian Forest in the hilly transition to the Fichtel Mountains east of the federal motorway 9 northeast of the municipality of Berg. The district road HO8 connects the district and the castle brewery as well as the residents with the surrounding area.

history

The Gottsmannsgrüner brewery was located in Gottsmannsgrün on the site of a former castle. The first residence was originally a Vorwerk von Brandstein and was owned by the von Dobenck family from 1318 to 1615 . On January 1, 1978 the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Berg.
