Brandstein
Brandstein is a district of the municipality of Berg in the Upper Franconian district of Hof in Bavaria .

Brandstein is located on the eastern edge of the Franconian Forest on State Road 2692, southeast of the municipality of Berg and east of Federal Motorway 9 .
history
In Brandstein there is a castle built by the von Schönfeld family at the end of the 18th century and the Braunstein castle ruins . The von Weißelsdorf and Murring families are named under the influence of the von Weida bailiffs . Vorwerke to the castle were in Schlegel , Schnarchenreuth and Gottsmannsgrün . At the end of the 19th century, Alban von Dobeneck sold the family property to the son of Franz August Mammen , Enno Mammen, from a family of industrialists in Plauen . He was succeeded by the ennobled son Franz von Mammen († 1936) as the owner.
