The snow-white elephant ( Inula candida ) is a species of the sunflower family (Asteraceae). There are several similar miniatures.

features

The snow-white alant is an evergreen, perennial, herbaceous plant or subshrub that reaches heights of 10 to 30 centimeters. The leaves measure 3 to 9 × 1 to 1.5 centimeters and are broadly lanceolate, snow-white felt and stalked. The flower heads have a diameter of 1 to 1.8 centimeters. The outer bracts are bent back and have long tips.

The flowering period extends from July to August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

Occurrence

The snow-white elephant is found in Greece and Crete .

use

The snow-white elephant is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rock gardens.
