The Schneider rock is an isolated rock formation at the Bakutis Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It is 5 km north of Siglin Rocks on the west side of the Martin Peninsula .
The United States Navy made the first aerial photographs of the formations in January 1947 during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1967 after Lieutenant R. P. Schneider of the US Navy, coordinator for the maintenance of the Williams Field airfield near McMurdo Station during Operation Deep Freeze in 1966.
