The Schoeller Street in Düren , North Rhine-Westphalia , is a main thoroughfare. It is classified as federal highway 56 .

Schoellerstraße begins at Friedrich-Ebert-Platz , then heads north to the end of the town. Before leaving the town, the main road runs past the Grüngürtel settlement to the east and then crosses the Cologne-Aachen railway line via the so-called Arnoldsweilerbrücke . Outside of Düren there is an extension of the Düren junction on the federal motorway 4 . That is why Schoellerstraße is often referred to as a motorway feeder.

Schoellerstraße has four lanes over its entire length. It was named after the Kommerzienrat Philipp Schoeller (1833-1904), a Düren carpet manufacturer and benefactor. At the confluence of Roonstrasse is the home for the blind, named after his wife Anna, the Annaheim.

The Düren Beautification Association, founded in 1869, laid out a promenade in 1877 from the Arnoldsweilerbrücke over the Kölnplatz, today Friedrich-Ebert-Platz, the Eberhard-Hoesch-Straße to the Zülpicher Straße and called it Vereinsstraße. On June 12, 1914, the section from the railway bridge to Friedrich-Ebert-Platz, the Vereinsstraße north , was renamed Schoellerstraße .

The only fixed particulate matter measuring station in Düren is on Schoellerstraße just before Friedrich-Ebert-Platz . With more than 25,000 vehicles every day, it is one of the busiest roads in Düren.

From April 14 to 22, 2014, the Cologne-Aachen railway line between Düren and Merzenich was closed. The Schoellerstrasse railway bridge, built in 1959, has to be rebuilt. It will be demolished when the line is closed and will be rebuilt by March 2015. On October 29, 2014, the completed bridge was pushed over the railway line.
