Closed season caliber
As a closed season Caliber is cartridge ammunition which the designated hunting during the closed season of big game and small game is used.

It is usually small caliber ammunition , such as. B. .22 , .22 WMR or .22 Hornet . The .222 Remington is already approved for roe deer and therefore does not count as a closed season caliber.
Closed season calibers are used in special weapons , but also in the insert barrel in a combined weapon .

There is game without a closed season which, according to the hunting law , can be hunted all year round ( hunting year ). These include various small game species , such as B. Rabbits and various predatory game species . These may be hunted unless other hunting regulations, such as the general protection of parent animals during the setting and breeding seasons, prevent this. Furthermore, animals are hunted with closed season calibres, which are not counted as game, but which may be shot by the hunter according to state law .
