Schuetz (noble family)
The Schuetz family (also Schütz , Schütz von Pansdorf , Schütz von Bahnsdorf ) named themselves after their knight seat Bahnsdorf near Calau , Niederlausitz in the Mark Brandenburg .
origin
Probably the Schuetz come from Silesia , however, for Meissner expected nobility. The same sex was found in Graustein near Spremberg in 1571 and in 1836 in Schmagorei in the Sternberg (Osowo) district. In 1847 in Reichenwalde, Sternberg district (near Reppen ) and in 1850 in Petersdorf , the Schuetz owned the Dietersdorf estate near Dramburg in Pomerania in 1789 .
Personalities
- Hans Joachim von Schütz , lord of Bahnsdorf and around 1728 electoral Saxon colonel and commander of the former Sonnenstein fortress .
- Hans Adam Heinrich von Schütz , one of the most distinguished officers in King Friedrich II's army , is said to have said to his only son in 1774: "Does he know that his father was the real creator of my hussars ?"
