Schwaben weissblau - hurray und helau is a Bavarian-Swabian ceremonial meeting that is held annually during the carnival season in Memmingen . It has beenproduced and recordedby Bayerischer Rundfunk since 2004in cooperation with the Bavarian-Swabian Carnival Association. The carnival program is broadcast on both Bavarian television and SWR . “Schwaben weissblau - hurray und helau” is also the title of the hymn of the carnival event, which was composed by Klaus-Jürgen Herrmannsdörfer and written by Willi Staud.

Program Sequence

The chairman of the meeting, Georg Ried of the Carnival Association, leads the audience through a program of words, music and dance contributions by regional artists from Swabia with the support of the Elferrat . Not only global events, but also local and regional things from the Allgäu and Swabia are poked fun at. Political celebrities are regularly among the audience. Typical program items in the approximately three-hour program are a hand-made speech , cabaret, guard dance and gugga music . Among others, the cabaret artist Maxi Schafroth , Die Maulquappen, ventriloquist Perry Paul and the impersonator of the Prime Minister Wolfgang Krebs have performed repeatedly at Schwaben weissblau and thus became known to a larger audience. The presentation of the event is based on the Swabian-Alemannic Carnival .
