Schwabniederhofen is a district of the Upper Bavarian community Altenstadt in the district of Weilheim-Schongau .
location
The church village , located 2 km north of Altenstadt, stretches almost 1.5 km in north-south direction on the east bank of the Schönach .
history
Schwabniederhofen is first mentioned in an exchange letter around 1170 Duke Welf VI. called. From 1265 the bailiwick of the church belonged to the Steingaden monastery . In 1314 all rights over the church went to the Rottenbuch monastery , which also took care of the parish .
The formerly independent municipality of Schwabniederhofen was incorporated into Altenstadt on May 1, 1978.
