The Schwalmis is 2246  m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Urner Alps on the border of the Swiss cantons Nidwalden and Uri . It belongs to a mountain range together with Jochlistock ( 2079  m ), Gandispitz ( 1996  m ), Zingel ( 1901  m ) and Oberbauenstock ( 2117  m ). In summer as in winter, the Schwalmis is visited quite often. It is not a problem for a usual mountain hiker and offers views in all directions, especially of Lake Lucerne .

It can be reached from Klewenalp or Gitschenen as well as via the ridge from Oberbauenstock (only for experienced mountain hikers who do not suffer from vertigo).
