Swedish Chess Federation

The Swedish Chess Federation ( SSF ) (Swedish: Sveriges Schackförbund) is the national chess federation in Sweden and was founded in 1917. The Swedish Chess Federation is a member of the World Chess Federation FIDE and the European Chess Union . The SSF organizes, among other things, the Swedish individual ( Schack-SM ) and team championships ( Allsvenskan ) and publishes the Tidskrift för schack as an association magazine.

Presidents ( Ordförande ) of the SSF

Since its inception, the SSF has had a total of 10 presidents, of which Ludvig Collijn and Christer Wänéus were the longest at 22 years each. Folke Rogard was initially Vice President of FIDE during his tenure , from 1949 he was FIDE President and remained so until 1970.
