Swiss Cup 2016/17 (basketball)

At Schweizer Cup 2016/17 30 teams took part. Until the quarter-finals, the lower class teams had home rights. From the 1/16 finals onwards, the NLA clubs entered the competition, with the NLA representative Swiss Central Basket receiving a bye.

The winners were the Lions de Genève who, after a race to catch up in the fourth quarter, won the final against BBC Monthey 78:77. It was the second cup win for Geneva after 2014.

In the aftermath of the game, Swiss Basketball initiated administrative and disciplinary proceedings against individual players and officials of the BBC Monthey, as they were confronted with aggressive behavior and insults against officials and the referee.
