Hans-Jürgen Ulbricht

Hans-Jürgen Ulbricht (born March 2, 1947 ) is a German sports scientist and judo functionary.

Life

Hans-Jürgen Ulbricht began in 1960 when SV Dynamo Merseburg with the judo and soon proved to be a successful athlete. In 1962 he qualified in the Halle district to participate in the GDR youth championship. After graduating from high school, he studied from 1966 to 1970 at the German University of Physical Culture (DHfK) in Leipzig . During his studies to become a certified sports teacher, he took up the specialty of judo at the Institute for Martial Arts of the DHfK, where he began his career as a sports scientist in 1970. After successfully taking part in competitions of the student selection team during his studies at the DHfK and having passed the 1st Dan, he passed the examination for the 2nd Dan with Kyu acceptance authorization in 1972 before the examination committee of the German Judo Association (DJV). He took the 3rd Dan exam in 1973 and was then appointed by the DJV to the Dan graduation committee for the Leipzig district . As a university lecturer, he obtained his doctorate paed at the DHfK. and worked closely with the head of the Institute for Martial Arts , Gerhard Lehmann , and the head of the Judo research group , Hans Müller-Deck . In addition to his work at the university, Hans-Jürgen Ulbricht was a member of the DJV coaching council and judo coach at SC Leipzig from 1980 to 1990 . In the course of the winding up and closure of the DHfK, he was transferred to the Sports Science Faculty of the University of Leipzig in 1990 and headed the specialist group for strength and martial arts . He also took on the role of teaching supervisor in the Judo Association of Saxony (JVS) founded in 1990 . After the merger of the DJV with the German Judo Association (DJB) in February 1991, he became a member of the teaching team at the DJB and took over the office of DJB instructor from 1996 to 2002. In 2004, Hans-Jürgen Ulbricht was elected President of the JVS and held this office until 2014. The DJB honored him in 2013 with the award of the 8th Dan. Until his retirement he worked as a lecturer for martial arts at the University of Leipzig. After leaving the board of the JVS, the association honored him as an honorary member and honorary president .
