The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Kilian is the town church of Fladungen in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Fladungen and is registered together with the churchyard wall under the number D-6-73-123-21 in the Bavarian list of monuments . Fladungen is part of the parish community Nordheim -Fladungen.

history

The foundation walls of the church are medieval. The church was built between 1657 and 1659. A side aisle was added to the south .

description

The church consists of the nave with the south aisle and the east choir tower . The aisle is longer than the main nave and ends with the church tower. The church tower consists of the rectangular base and the octagonal upper floor. The side aisle is separated by round arches , while the choir arch is pointed. The church has pointed arch windows .

Furnishing

The altars and the pulpit are Rococo works from around 1760. The central figure on the high altar is the Immaculate . It was created by Johann Jakob Keßler from Königshofen . Figures of the four evangelists are attached to the pulpit .

Bells

The church has a six-part bell with the tones dis ′, f sharp ′, g sharp ′, h ′, c sharp ″, f sharp ″, a Parsifal motif with an extension. Bells 4, 5 and 6 were cast by unknown foundries in Fladungen and Würzburg in 1653, 1664 and 1665. Bells 1, 2 and 4 (dis - fis - b) were cast by the Otto bell foundry from Bremen- Hemelingen in 1956.
